PELVIC FLOOR HEALTH w/ the Feldenkrais Method @ GreenSquare Center for the Healing Arts - Upper Level
Dec 9 @ 1:00 am – 4:00 am

Pelvic Floor Workshop Using the Feldenkrais Method Using the principles of The Feldenkrais Method®, we will do a series of Awareness Through Movement Lessons designed to help you feel and become more aware of what makes up your pelvic floor. This leads to better control and more functional strength. This method is a sensory motor educational process emphasizing awareness of self and learning through feeling how you move. The lessons are done without strain or pain, and students are directed to focus on sensations as they move. This workshop is designed to improve awareness so you learn the most effective use of the pelvic floor muscles with the coordinated action of the abdominals, deep back muscles and the respiratory diaphragm. Sensing movement in this area is quite subtle.

NOTE – The lessons are done lying on your back on the floor so please bring a mat, blanket or large towel. Also, bring a pillow or bolster for under your knees if needed, and a large folded towel for under your head (pillows are usually to soft for our purpose) The pelvic floor is essential for elimination, continence, balance, and many aspects of pelvic and lower back comfort. This workshop is designed to help improve pelvic floor functioning.

When suffering from dysfunction, symptoms may include, but are not limited to:
Incontinence & constipation
Lack of sexual enjoyment
Prolapse of bladder, uterus or rectum
Balance issues

Other less obvious conditions that may benefit are:
Digestive issues, breathing problems, and weakness or pain in the lower back, pelvis or hip joints

Knowing how to use and strengthen the pelvic floor is often not fully understood. The class will help you to feel how the lower back, abdomen and the front, back and sides of the pelvic area muscles contribute to a healthy pelvic floor.

Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
